Henrik Pedersen talked of “a fantastic away performance” from his Wednesday side despite the disappointment of being hit by a 99th minute equaliser in the 2-2 draw at Birmingham on Tuesday night.

Pedersen said: “Of course, it’s tough to lose two points in the end. But in the bigger picture we should be proud of a fantastic away performance.

“We had a difficult beginning, but how the players are working and staying together in a difficult period after the goal, we came back in the game.

“To get something away, you need to be strong defensively, then you need to be good in the transition and at set pieces.

“We got to 2-1 and then we fought until the end, and it was a long game today and they got the 2-2.

“In this situation, to bring a team performance that showed character and strong mentality, it showed from the heart what this team is built from.”
