Dominic Iorfa misses tomorrow’s home game with Preston through suspension after collecting a fifth yellow card of the season at Millwall in midweek.

It will be Wednesday’s third game in six days, putting extra pressure on our already stretched squad, and head coach Henrik Pedersen said today: “We have some tired boys because they gave everything on Wednesday evening. I will see tomorrow morning when I speak to different people on how they are. We have some doubts but let’s see which team and what squad we will bring.”

Nathan Redmond, who signed a short-term deal at the club on Thursday, could well be in tomorrow’s squad but is unlikely to be in the starting line-up.

Pedersen said the winger was probably not ready to start but could figure at some stage in the game.

Preston, who sit sixth in the table before tomorrow’s fixtures could have ex-Owls Michael Smith and Pol Valentin in their squad while Wednesday continue the search for a first home league win of the season.

There is also positive news on the injury front with keeper Pierce Charles scheduled to have his first runout following the shoulder injury he suffered back in August.

Charles is pencilled in to be part of the Sheffield Wednesday XI to take on Stocksbridge Park Steels in their Hallamshire Senior Cup tie at Hillsborough next Wednesday.

However, defender Di’Shon Bernard has had to have further surgery on the knee he injured at West Brom in February and is not expected to be back on the training pitch until February of next year.
