Callum Paterson is expected to be in action for Wednesday in our behind-closed-doors friendly with Mansfield at Middlewood Road tomorrow.

The popular Paterson is out of contract but has taken part in pre-season training and is likely to figure at some stage in the game against the Stags.

The match will be split into three sections, two of 45 minutes and then an additional half hour.

The squad will be a mix of senior players, under-21s and trialists, with each player given pre-designated slots.

However, the club website says that Barry Bannan, who has been training with the Owls, is not expected to take part in tomorrow’s match “as a precaution”.
