Carlos to pick up ‘top display’ award

Carlos Carvalhal will receive the League Managers’ Association Performance of the Week award on Friday after our Boxing Day win at Newcastle.

The five-man panel, made up of chairman and former Owls boss Howard Wilkinson, Sir Alex Ferguson, Joe Royle, Dave Bassett and Barry Fry, rated the 1-0 victory as the best display over the festive period.

Carlos will be presented with the trophy at the Middlewood Road training ground.

* Wednesday fans snapped up a further 1000 tickets – for the West Stand lower tier – for our home game with Wolves on January 2, after they were released for sale on Thursday morning.

The game was already a sellout for Wednesday fans before this extra, and final, allocation was allowed, following talks with the local authorities with regard to safety and segregation.
