Wednesday will be without Dominic Iorfa and Harry Amass for tomorrow’s FA Cup third round tie with Brentford at Hillsborough.
Henrik Pedersen’s injury problems continue, with Iorfa joining the list and expected to be out for up to six weeks with a groin injury, while Amass has gone back to Old Trafford following his loan spell at S6 and we wait to see if he returns to Wednesday for the rest of the season.
Pedersen has also confirmed that none of the sidelined players will be ready to return for the cup tie.
The combination of our already threadbare squad, the seemingly ever-growing injury list and the need to rest some of our few senior players, including skipper Barry Bannan who has played the vast majority of minutes this season, is likely to see us fielding a team of even more youngsters than usual in the starting line-up for the Bees match.
Brentford, who are on a fine recent run which has taken them up to fifth in the Premier League table, can be expected to rest some of their first-team regulars for this first-ever FA Cup clash between the two sides.
