Wednesday take on Derby at Hillsborough this evening looking for a morale-boosting result to end our Championship run of 13 games without a win.
We thought we had achieved that elusive victory at Watford last week, only to be denied the three points with a Hornets equaliser in the 98th minute, and now attention turns to the visit of 16th-placed Derby to S6 with relegation back to division one a seeming formality for ourselves after points deductions leave us stranded in bottom place on minus nine points.
Looking at tonight’s fixture, we will be without Yan Valery who has now joined up with Tunisia for the African Cup of Nations tournament while Zimbabwe have allowed Sean Fusire to play for Wednesday against Derby before he links up with his team-mates for the competition in Morocco.
We wait to see if Barry Bannan is fit to play this evening, the skipper being subbed at half time at Watford with a groin injury, while loanee Nathan Redmond is sidelined with a groin problem.
*For London Owls not making the trip to Hillsborough this evening, we will be meeting up at Mabel’s Tavern, 9 Mabledon Place, London WC1H 9AZ to watch the game live on Sky, kick off 8pm.
