Wednesday have made a double deadline day move to land Luton Town’s Marvelous Nakamba on a free transfer and Manchester City’s Joel Ndala on loan for the rest of the season.
Nakamba is an experienced defensive midfielder who played 58 times for Aston Villa over four seasons, before joining Luton on loan in January 2023 and helping them to promotion to the Premier League.
He signed a permanent deal at Kenilworth Road in the following summer and went on to play 14 times in the Premier League and made a further 23 appearances in the Championship.
Nakamba is a Zimbabwe international with 36 caps, playing in three African Cup of Nations tournaments, including 2025 when he skippered his country.
He joins the Owls for the remainder of this campaign.
Meanwhile, Manchester City wideman Joel Ndala has joined us on a loan deal until the end of the season.
Ndala, 19, has made 19 appearances this season while on loan for Hull City in the Championship and now switches to Hillsborough for the rest of the campaign.
He grew up through the City academy and graduated to their under-21s before having loan spells at PSV Eindhoven and then at Nottingham Forest.
On the international front, Ndala has played through the youth levels for England, from the under-16s to the under-20s.
He now joins us until May and links up with fellow City loanee Jaden Heskey at S6.
